Who Made the Cut? ECG Showdown Heats Up the Mini Stage

Ten resident teams battled for five final spots before ECG cases put participants’ clinical reasoning to the test

The Mini Stage drew a packed crowd for the Semifinal ECG Championship for Residents, bringing together 10 resident teams in a fast-paced ECG interpretation challenge. Moderated by Arsha Pramudya, MD, Alice Inda Supit, MD, Evan Jim Gunawan, MD, and Iyan Solihin, the competition tested participants’ ability to interpret ECG findings quickly and accurately. Prof. Muzakkir, MD, PhD, and Fera Hidayat, MD, served as panelists, providing insights throughout the competition. The five highest-scoring teams advanced to the final round.

The atmosphere then shifted with “ECG for Fun,” moderated by Evan Jim Gunawan, MD. Through a series of clinical cases, participants were challenged to identify ECG findings and determine the most likely diagnoses, including cases involving pacemaker function and potential device-related abnormalities.

The session adopted an interactive format, with participants invited to share their interpretations directly with the moderator. Audience members who wished to answer were given the opportunity to speak using a microphone, creating an engaging exchange between the stage and the audience.

By combining challenging cases with open discussion, “ECG for Fun” transformed ECG interpretation into an engaging clinical exercise, allowing participants to test their knowledge, refine their clinical reasoning, and learn through discussion.
