Contemporary Insights into Infiltrative Cardiomyopathy, Arrhythmia, and Heart Failure

A brief review decoding the interplay between infiltrative heart diseases and heart failure in arrhythmia

Pre-Symposium 1: Joint Symposium InaHRS-ISCI-InaEcho The Hidden Substrate: Infiltrative Heart Disease behind Arrhythmia

Moderated by Adhantoro Rahadyan, MD, and Erika Maharani, MD, this session concludes three lectures regarding infiltrative heart disease. Elen, MD starts the session with “Unmasking Infiltrative Heart Disease”, in which she elucidates the pathophysiology of this condition. She underlines the importance of assessing LVH as a possible infiltrative disease. Following this session, Melawati Hasan, MD from Hasan Sadikin Hospital brings an eloquent lecture on “Cardiac Amyloidosis: Echocardiographic Pearls and Pitfalls”. She highlights echocardiography as the cornerstone imaging modality in cardiac amyloidosis. The last lecture of this session was brought by Erika Maharani, MD, and reviews “Ventricular Arrhythmia in Patients with Infiltrative Disease”. She discusses management strategies in order to avoid fibrotic scarring.

Pre-Symposium 4: Joint Symposium InaHRS-InaHF-InaPH Working Group PERKI Managing AF in HFpEF: Current Strategies and Emerging Insights

After a short coffee break, Dian Ballroom A hosts another Pre-Symposium, this time moderated by Chaerul Achmad, MD, PhD, and Fera Hidayati, MD. Siti Elkana Nauli, MD starts off the session with “The AF-HFpEF Intersection: Emerging Role of SGLT2 Inhibition” which discusses heart failure on diabetics. Sisca Natalia Siagian, MD articulated a powerful lecture on “The Right Atrium Under Pressure: Arrhythmias in Pulmonary Hypertension and HFpEF”. She highlights a CABANA study that supports a heart failure evaluation for arrhythmic patients, because successful treatment depends on arrhythmia control and hemodynamic stabilization. To close, Chaerul Achmad, MD, PhD brings the topic “The Role of AF Ablation in HFpEF: Where Do We Stand?”.

Pre-Symposium 7: State-of-the-Art Diagnostic Tools in Contemporary Arrhythmia Management

Pre-Symposium 7 follows immediately after, centering around technological advances in medicine. This last session was moderated by Budi Baktijasa Dharmadjati, MD, PhD, and Muhammad Muqsith, MD. The first lecture brings a topic that has been gaining popularity, “Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in Diagnosis of Arrhythmia”, with Alexander Edo Tondas, MD, PhD. This session is ended with a discussion regarding “Digital Health in Arrhythmia Management: Smartwatches, Mobile ECG Devices, and Cloud-Based Data Integration” with Sumarni, MD, PhD, elaborating various devices that have the potential to transform arrhythmia care.
