How to Take Precise Steps to Determine a Diagnosis Based on ECG Readings
The session, which was also held in the Paris Room, was titled “Bring Your ECG” and focused on interesting electrocardiography cases. This time, the event was moderated by Aruman Yudanto, MD, who guided the discussion. The experts serving as panelists for this session included Tommy Daindes, MD, PhD, Haryadi, MD, and Reynold Agustinus, MD.
A total of five presenters each presented a different ECG case within 5 minutes. Daffa Ikhsani Subhi, discussing pulmonary embolism, received feedback to pay closer attention to the completeness of the data and to be more meticulous in ECG measurements. Next, Robert F., who discussed ACS and arrhythmia, was advised not to make a diagnosis before carefully reviewing the ECG. Moving on to Faris Jaisyi Umam’s presentation on clinical devices, feedback emphasized the importance of not overlooking the patient’s clinical condition and ensuring the appropriate placement of the implantable device, given the differential diagnoses suggested by the ECG findings.
This was followed by Roby Bagasworo, who addressed the topic of AV dissociation, and concluded with Khariz Fahrurrozi, who discussed infranodal block using the atropine test. The key takeaway from these five presentations is to avoid making a diagnosis before accurately and carefully interpreting the ECG results, supported by credible data to rule out differential diagnoses.
